Creative Writing Class: ALI Logo Proposal

Congratulations to Talita Bono for being voted as making the best ALI Logo!

In our Creative Writing Class, we worked on writing a proposal for designing a logo for ALI. In last Thursday's class, we had a poster presentation to share our work and voted for the best ALI Logo in class. Based on the votes, we selected Talita Bono's ALI Logo as the best ALI Logo!

Conversation Partners Meet and Greet!

Thursday night was the very successful kick-off night of our new Conversation Partner Program! International students from the American Language Institute and new American friends connected at this lively, upbeat gathering and planned for their activities for the semester ahead.

A second meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 19th, for those who could not attend this meeting.

International students and native English speaking volunteers who are interested and have not already registered for the program can get more information by emailing: conversationpartners@mail.naz.edu.

Participants in the program will be hearing from us soon about our next planned group activity.

We are looking forward to a fantastic semester of inter-cultural sharing and learning together, new international friendships and
a lot of fun.

IMPORTANT DATES TO KNOW!

As we approach the middle of the semester, I want to remind you of some important dates in the ALI academic calendar!

March 7, 2014: Midterm Point in the semester
(you may receive progress reports, mid-term grades, etc.). Check with your individual instructors.

March 8-March 16 - Spring Recess. This is when you should schedule any trips you want to take. Be sure to communicate your plans with Laura Barnard, Assistant Director, Center for International Education lbarnar4@naz.edu.

March 17-March 22: Enrollment/Advisement week for summer program. We will open enrollment for all returning students for the Summer 2014 Semester. ALI Academic Intensive English Program summer semester dates are: May 12-August 15, 2014.

April 21-25 - Final Week of Classes.
Thursday, April 24th - Placement and Progress Testing (all students)
Friday, April 25th - Graduation and Moving Up Ceremony and Celebration
