LISTENING/ SPEAKING HOMEWORK

Due Monday, 4-21-14: Unit 5 assessment - Read pp. 120-123. Prepare your presentation according to the instructions. You need at least 8 wordless slides, and each person must speak for at least 2 minutes. You may work in pairs, groups, or individually. Use AWL vocabulary in your presentation. Please follow all directions. 

If you missed class on 4-15-14: Please hand in Exercise C, page 114. Write 6 sentences using the collocations listed.

For Monday, 4-7-14, create a Voicethread presentation comparing and contrasting the two TED talks we saw in class: Brain Magic and Optical Illusions

Your presentation must answer the question: How can the mind deceive the eye?

Your Voicethread must have 

at least 8 slides/photos, 

each slide will have a voice recording, and 

you will play your presentation for the class. 

This project has no re-do date. 

If you are sick or absent, you will send your presentation to me BEFORE CLASS (vlbolton@gmail.com) and we will watch it in class.

 Due April 17th: Reflection on a topic of your choice. Be sure to:
1. Write in the first person
2.  Question, connect, apply, evaluate, show insight,  and strategize.

 Due Thursday, April 3, 2014: Persuasive/Argumentative Essay. Hand in 3 parts: 
1.Rough draft
2. Peer edit sheet (p.137-8)
3. Final draft: double spaced, printed.

Due Tuesday, April 8: Read chapter 5 of The Namesake and write a reflection about the chapter.
(one page, printed, double spaced, 12 point font).



Due Tuesday, March 25: Narrative Essay, 5 PARTS, according to the score sheet.
